Columbia and Corleone
By Michael Moriarty What overall objective has President Barack Obama had during his entire life? I believe it is, has been and always will be the goal of becoming and remaining the most popular guy on campus. Now that he's displayed this penchant or talent -- or obsession -- in numerous ways, what else is he really in the White House for except to ride the economically radical skirt hems of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi? Is there any substantive corner of his campaign platform and present administration that hasn't already been laid out in greater detail by either Ms. Pelosi or by his Secretary of State Hillary Clinton? In addition, the Bush Administration handed his initial bailout package to him.
In short, he's a leader who, in following the academic pack, always rises to prominence as the most charming bull in the herd. One CNN commentator remarked that she had even seen Queen Elizabeth flirting with him! Oh, well, the G2 Conference seemed to have born that out. The president appeared to be seeking the approval of his fellow members, bowing lower before the Saudis than he even had before the Queen. Letting his partner in economic strategy, Prime Minister Gordon Brown take charge, the president acted as peacemaker between the more conservative thinking of Germany and France versus the Anglo-American suicide dive into debt. All he received from that highly publicized effort was the British prime minister's declaration that the era of American economic sovereignty in the world is over! "I'm here as much to listen," said the president, humbly learning on the job. "Trans-nationalism", as the new code word for post-modern economics or Marxism, has been an all-absorbing idée fix for the president during his entire life: the bringing together of the entire world into one big happy family. How can you help but like the man … if, indeed, that is his primary goal. However, he's a Lefty -- a Deep Lefty -- and, as Vladimir Nabokov described Ilytch Lenin, he's possibly "a cup of the milk of human kindness … at the bottom of which is a dead rat". If he has any enemy at all, it is traditional America. The campaign slogan now is "There must be Change!" And, of course, it must be "change" in a way that "We of the Left can believe in!" The fact of the matter is that America was not only "changed" but that nation's integrity was disemboweled by the Supreme Court's Roe v Wade decision, 36 years ago. That legalization of murder so altered the American relationship with human life itself that words like "all men are created equal" and the "inalienable right to life" are now meaningless! Therefore, is it any wonder, is it any major surprise that an American president who handed American integrity over to trans-nationalist oversight committees such as the European Union and eventually the United Nations? Is it any wonder that President Obama is now obliged to be the most popular guy on earth? The truth is that anyone who craves approval as perpetually and as omnivorously as our president is someone to be pitied -- pitied almost as profoundly as history will pity America for having elected him -- and for having followed him. Next week I will begin to deal with the Progressive world leadership's increasingly open policy of "depopulating" the human race, shrinking the roughly six billion of us down to four billion … at least. Quite an objective for those who believe themselves scientifically informed enough to play God over their fellow man. But then again The Godfather is President Obama's favorite movie. For a Harvard graduate particularly, it is simply a matter of "educating" his fellow man … not killing him … well … sort of killing him … or rather educating him to death as our best solution to most of the Progressive Initiative's major problems. Those in the world who don't believe that President Barack Obama is "the most popular guy on campus" will be "educated". "Education" is now Progressive-speak for "making an offer no one can refuse". The Corleone family and Dartmouth/Harvard/Columbia have now met and married. Just remember that the real President Corleone is not the "Don" of Marlon Brando. He's the Ivy League's Michael of Al Pacino. Eventually not even Michael Corleone's wife could trust him.
But then again, how can you trust a puppet when you don't know the hand … or the hands that are pulling its strings?
