Our generation of vipers

By Michael Moriarty
web posted July 30, 2007

Apparently, during the presidential administration of Franklin Delano Roosevelt, he was heard saying, regarding a South American dictator, "He's a bad guy, but he is our bad guy!"

In 2005, the Boston Globe's book reviewer gave a glowing tribute, praising the book His Excellency, a biography of George Washington by Joseph J. Ellis. The quote on the cover of the book is "Ellis has done it again. This is an important and challenging work; beautifully written, lively, serious and engaging."

With that tribute to Mr. Ellis, the Boston Globe inferentially paraphrased one of its obvious heroes, FDR, with the words, "Ellis is a liar, but he is our liar!"

When American institutions, such as the Boston Globe, close ranks around a proven and self-confessed liar, and it was the Boston Globe that had exposed his lies … well, I personally think that things are even worse than I thought they were.

If you include Ellis being a character witness for President William Clinton during that executive's impeachment proceedings, you see how the entire Progressive machine, or Monster – it truly does control not only our major news sources, our government but, most importantly, the future of our own children as well – you may see how this Progressive beast has been let off the leashes of the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.

The profoundest offence, of course, is the Progressive Supreme Court's Roe v.  Wade decision of 1973. One score and fourteen years ago the American Republican and Democratic Progressives brought forth legalized murder. It's just another of the Supreme Court's defiance of the self-evident meanings contained within the Declaration of Independence. That court has already defended slavery in the 19th century and legalized supremacism with Oliver Wendell Holmes' ruling that a so-called "unfit" American be sterilized.

When I contemplate the Progressive machinations of not only the Clintons but Senator Barack Obama and the former Mayor of New York, Rudolph Giuliani, when such deviousness can be found in their race for the White House, what future do we face when representatives of both political parties are neither really Republican nor Democrat, but Progressive and, more importantly, pro-abortion? As an example, Senator Obama revealed his plans for American tax money to fund abortions, with his planned Universal Health Program that gives you the bribe before the "catch."

It is a further case of state approved murder, forcing all American tax payers, even the members of pro-life organizations, to fund the loathsome practice of abortion. Despite Senator Obama's charm and eloquence, certainly the equal and perhaps better than that of William Clinton, the ice that appears to run in his veins denied even surviving victims of abortion – and there are such survivors – a second chance.

So, what candidate do we possibly have to oppose three such cold blooded Progressives, the ruthlessness of which has been defended by the likes of congenital liar J. J. Ellis and his hagiographers at not only the Boston Globe, but in such distinguished publications as the Chicago Tribune, the New York Review of Books, Time Magazine, the New York Times Book Review, Business Week, USA Today, Entertainment Weekly … and the list and the Progressive beat goes on from there.

The most accurate character model among Progressives is Joseph J. Ellis himself. He is a profoundly well-informed Federalist – simply read his biographies of Jefferson and Washington, his preference for the Federalist Washington is obvious - an apologist for W. J. Clinton and a proven and self-confessed liar. No one on any of the American scenes, journalistic, political and artistic, has revealed the essential character of the Progressive movement so boldly.

Clinton, of course, lies but gets away with it. Why? He has Hillary, a raft of lawyers and a worldwide Progressive Political Empire to smooth over the damage of his lies. The American press, as exemplified by the long list of rave reviews for his post-scandal work, His Excellency, has come behind Ellis to defend him. This defense includes a tacit approval of his lies. In academia at the highest level you are kicked out of school for not disclosing your sources, for plagiarism. Why is a professor not fired for lying to his students in class? Since when have things so changed within the so-called Halls of Higher Learning? The answer is: since the first major Progressive, Franklin Delano Roosevelt, assumed power as President of the United States.

Abraham Lincoln, that most glorious of American Republicans, took a justifiably Federalist's attitude towards slavery, since it defied the very words of the Declaration of Independence. It would take a 3rd Millennium Republican President in a similar spirit to put his foot down about abortion. It is not only a fiendish practice of irresponsible human beings, but unquestionably Undeclarational!

We, therefore and at last, are ruled by Philip Wylie's Generation of Vipers. ESR
