The intrepid "ugly duckling"

We all know her now … well, reasonably sane Americans know Sarah Palin as undeniably beautiful … yes, the "Swan-like" destination for all, purportedly "Ugly Ducklings".
The "Dems", however, not only saw the Ugly Duckling instantly, automatically and viscerally – their revulsion seemed cataclysmic – these Progressives and their "Red Lights" went ballistic the second they heard the news:
"John McCain's V. P. pick is Governor Sarah Palin of Alaska!"
"Oh, my God," came the involuntary cry of the ordinarily humanistic, intellectual atheists of the Democratic Party.
If Senator McCain, one thousand years from now, will be remembered for any maverick decision it will be his choice of Sarah Palin for Vice-President.
The Progressive Democrats' worst nightmare had arrived and the inevitable order went out, "We must destroy her!"
They've certainly tried and they're still trying. CNN brings on as many "experts" and disdainful talking heads as is possible to dampen Sarah Palin's disturbingly high "Q" rating. The "Q" rating is the closely, intensely, yea, obsessively monitored number of television viewers who tune in to watch and listen to Sarah Palin. The revelation of that record-breaking interest in Sarah Palin is that CNN would prefer to ignore her … but business demands that they invite her on … for two interviews in one day, with Larry King and Wolf Blitzer.
There you have the wonderfully double-edged sword of American capitalism: if the market demands it, if the American people institute their obligatory fairness, then the CNN agenda has to be adjusted because of Palin's undeniable popularity. That network's board of directors is well aware of the financial tank into which the New York Times is still falling; and there you have the marketing limits of intellectual supremacy … or any display of supremacy anywhere in America.
It was viewed… and the view will be prolonged for some time … as worse than embarrassing for Progressives to contemplate what their Mainstream Media did to Sarah Palin during this campaign. Even the brightest member of its female intelligentsia, Camille Paglia, holds them at least worthy of a severe "hang-over". The intellectual supremacists as villainous caricatures, with Charles Gibson as the classic prototype of over-the-eyeglasses and down-the-nose condescension … these memories are indelible.
""Let's make her look stupid" became the general battle cry. "And then let's repeatedly broadcast and eternally infer how ignorant she obviously is!"
Pride -- intellectual pride particularly -- always goes before the pratfall in comedy, and also before the kinds of grotesque humiliation the Johnson/Nixon/Kissinger Vietnam years faced.
Nixon promised "Peace" the way Obama has promised "Change". Let's see how different those two realities turn out to be since it took over four years for Nixon to get us out of Vietnam in utter defeat. Four years or four minutes to get out of either Vietnam or Iraq still spells utter defeat for Democracy and victory for not only Communist tyranny but Islamic terrorism as well.
Sarah Palin knows that, but then again, the Progressives think that knowing that is a sign of ignorance.
Try as the Progressive Fourth Estate of the Press may to make Sarah Palin an Ugly Duckling of Ignorance, she keeps rising like the Phoenix, out of a politically mixed and bipartisan metaphor, to ultimately appear as an utterly fireproof Swan!
The most ominous prophecy for the Progressive, Feminist Intelligentsia -- I'm happy to share with you -- comes from one of its most gifted souls and intellects, Camille Paglia.
She writes that Sarah Palin has been "subjected to an atrocious and at times delusional level of defamation merely because she has the temerity to hold pro-life views."
The "delusional" element is elaborated in Ms. Paglia's next, very hyperbolic exclamation.
"How dare Palin not embrace abortion as the ultimate civilized ideal of modern culture?"!!!
The exclamation marks are mine … forgive me … I was an actor once.
Examine that quote closely and you begin to understand – from an expert inside this unavoidable enemy camp – just how "delusional" their attitude has become. "Pro-choice", as the increasingly transparent euphemism for "Pro-abortion", has attained radically devoted, melodramatically climactic and classically Grecian absurdities.
No one understands this more completely than Prof. Paglia.
No wonder the assaults upon Sarah Palin have been so savagely groundless. The accusers are literally blind in their own self-obsessions and - what I venture to identify as - homicidal narcissism.
Obviously I'm almost as big a fan of Paglia as I am of Palin … Paglia, Palin … "Pagliantology", the study, dissection, denotation and identification of possible female candidates for the Presidency of the United States.
Of course, the potential face-off between Sarah Palin and Hillary Clinton would present a major dilemma for Prof. Paglia -- in regard to her lectures and editorials on the matter. What her personal opinion in the ballot box is, without question, hers to keep … and God bless America!
In an earlier editorial, I have suggested a Palin/Jindal presidency with Thomas Sowell as Secretary of State, and now, we must add Camille Paglia as Secretary of Education.
Paglia's Sexual Personae, of course, becomes obligatory reading nationwide.
There's "Change" for you.
Finally, as a closing tribute to Governor Palin, she has, after weathering this blisteringly malicious campaign, earned the right to eventually sit in the Oval Office and behind a desk known as The Intrepid … and her family, certainly as beleaguered a target as Governor Palin has been, would henceforth be known as The Most Fearless of First Families!
