Chapter Forty-Eight of Keeping Score In America: Obama's Bitter Encounter With Black Orpheus By Michael Moriarty Is there anything more increasingly a shock than an Ivy League college student who is both a spoiled brat yet profoundly bitter, and, despite those character traits, elevated to the Presidency of the United States? In this Guardian article by Peter Bradshaw, written during the first 100 days of this, now two term Presidency, the young, both spoiled and bitter Barack Obama, while studying at the prestigious Ivy League school, Columbia University, has a visit from his mother Ann and his sister Maya. Later Barack and his mother attend a performance of the award-winning and now legendary film, Black Orpheus! Quoting from this remarkably revealing article: Obama (in his autobiography)
That was Obama's mother, Ann's opinion of Black Orpheus. That film by Marcel Camus won the Palme d'Or at Cannes that year and also the Golden Globe and an Oscar for best foreign-language film the following year. Apparently these accolades rang no heart-warming bells for the young, black and bitter Barack Obama as this film classic obviously had for his white mother Ann. ![]() From Obama's autobiography we read: "About halfway through the movie I decided I'd seen enough, and turned to my mother to see if she might be ready to go. But her face, lit by the blue glow of the screen, was set in a wistful gaze. At that moment I felt as if I were being given a window into her heart, the unreflective heart of her youth. I suddenly realized that the depiction of the childlike blacks I was now seeing on the screen, the reverse image of Conrad's dark savages, was what my mother had carried with her to Hawaii all those years before, a reflection of the simple fantasies that had been forbidden to a white, middle-class girl from Kansas, the promise of another life: warm, sensual, exotic, different." As the author of this article, Peter Bradshaw, describes it: "Barack Obama responded to the film quite differently. He responded with impatience, with skepticism and with pain; he saw no reason for black men and women to be objectified – and now, as the president of the United States, he is the subject, the most important subject in the world." Bradshaw's conclusion, so filled with the Liberal optimism of Obama's first 100 days, "Now, rightly or wrongly, Black Orpheus may become a classic text, a text about something quite other than that intended by its director, Marcel Camus: a loss of liberal innocence about racial difference." "A loss of liberal innocence"! Hmmm… I, like the author of this article, was one of New York City's white liberals in the very 1980's in which the young Barack Obama could so look down upon a great film of that period, Black Orpheus. I "lost" my own "Liberal innocence" when I met Bill Clinton's Attorney General, Janet Reno, in the Fall of 1993. I so "lost it", I became not only a political independent but a self-exiled and bitter ex-liberal, American resident of Canada. Now, not a black Orpheus but a spoiled and bitter black American, the very author of those smugly hate-filled words I've quoted, a man whose political record can now surpass even the Liberal Fascism of Janet Reno, Barack Hussein Obama, has become President of the United States. Ann Obama may have, in her son's eyes, become embarrassingly naïve, but that son of hers is bitterly homicidal in the unrelenting campaign he has waged to destroy any semblance of a traditional America, but to permanently shrink a once great nation into a suicidal sycophancy in the Progressively Marxist New World Order. A monstrosity seemingly chastised by the United Nations but, in reality, destroyed covertly by an American, bipartisan leadership that even had the gall to proclaim their surrender to the United Nations on network television. As if what Bush calls "the law of the jungle" were the heart of what America had always been. Can you blame a President Obama for being so shamelessly disloyal when preceding Presidents, both the Bushes and Bill Clinton, consider a New World Order such a major improvement to both the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of The United States? No wonder the American people elected Obama! Twice!! If Americans were, as they proved to be, blind to a total of two decades of New World Order Presidencies? What's another eight years from the President who has been chosen for one reason and one reason only: to deliver to America her financial coup de grace: HR2847. Research that bill yourself. Many feel that bill institutes a collapse of the American dollar. What's the big surprise? With the debt that the previous four Presidents, including President Reagan, helped to drop on the backs of the American people, all of the debt intended to humiliate the United States into a Progressively Marxist New World Order?! With those trillions of dollars of debt as the firestorm to burn down the American homeland?! The treasonous nature of the Obama Presidency was not only no accident! The debt-ridden, humiliated and broken Obama Nation of America was inevitable.
