The regressive academia of progressivism

On Tuesday, June 24th of this year, Sen. Barack Obama was credited with having a 12 point lead over Sen. McCain. Looks like what we all expected in the first place: It's the Democrat's "turn" for the White House and, who knows, a possible landslide victory for Barack Obama. As most of my readers know, that would mean a landslide victory for legalized abortion and, well, I can't think of anything worse.

How can America possibly make abortion respectable?

Well, this nation did the same thing with slavery … and did it for 89 years!

What other such culturally regressive prices will we pay for a Progressive administration and its magna cum laude, Rhodes Scholarship graduates of Yale and Harvard Schools of Law?

Chaos will reign, I think, rather like the nightmare of the 1968 Chicago Democratic Convention, only spread out over an entire, four-year presidential term.

Hillary Clinton and Barack ObamaThe Obama/Clinton schism, the racial and sexist divide, will only grow greater when Obama necessarily refuses to pick Hillary as his Vice President.

Such a decision would mean Hillary, no matter what her rank or administrative title, would be "jockeying for position" in the 2012 presidential election. For her to win that Democratic primary, Obama would have to look as villainous as Lyndon Baines Johnson did in 1968 and, well, it would take four years of a very subtle sabotage for the Clinton camp to pull that off and still remain a respectable contender in any Democratic contest.

However, if you can keep abortion looking "respectable" for 35 years, keeping the Clintons politically viable should be a cinch.

So, yes, conservatives and their pro-life position? I am afraid Republicans are going to have to endure four, very, very, very Progressive White House years … but also four very, very, very regressive years for the Democratic Party. All their eloquence may well begin to sound like baby-babble.

When the racist and sexist realities, the games Democratic men have been playing with Democratic women, and white Democrats have been playing with black Democrats … and vice-versa … when all these lies to each other are exposed, America, if you can believe it, will be grieving for the George W. Bush years. The nightmare will assure an eight-year return of conservatism. With America more fully educated about the precarious nature of Progressive "good intentions", it is entirely possible to foresee a "fall of the Beijing Wall", one perhaps reminding us of Ronald Reagan's surprising victory over the lies of Soviet Communism. Perhaps we will see an end to Red Chinese dictatorship over one sixth of the entire human race -- and see it happen within the next eight to twelve years.

The other scenario, of course, would be to see the Democrats pluck defeat from the present jaws of a landslide victory. Yes, in less than five months, this party of the stubborn mule might grow even more stubborn with itself. A political schizophrenia divides the Democrats, parts them like the biblical Red Sea and the seemingly lost tribe of Republicans scurry through to victory behind the leadership of Sen. McCain and, say, General William Colin Powell, Jr. Such a miracle would promise a possible 16 years of Republicans in the White House -- there to wrestle a Progressive Congress and keep America in at least some form of balance.

I am an independent. Having had a Republican police surgeon for a father, I am not the least bit naïve about the Republican penchant for dictatorial militancy.  In addition, the seemingly more flexible Democrats looked automatically more appealing to me as a young man.

However, the vaunted "liberalism" shared by Democrats has revealed itself to be a false freedom, the very mask they hide behind. In other words, the seeming, financial generosity to a Liberal's fellow Man, that promise of "help" which bribes their fellow citizens into giving Progressives increasing power and say over the entire direction of mankind … this "Global Initiative", when it offers a carte blanche license to science, instituting the permanence of abortion and embryonic experimentation … such ambition becomes a "Progressive Expedition" without Lewis and Clark at the helm. It will be Dr. Strangelove and his eugenics laboratory guiding us insanely away from what had shaped the central meaning within all of Western civilization.

In short, it means the end of the Golden Rule.

If we can do unto gestating infants what we would not want done unto our own gestating infancy … then what can we not do to anyone or anything? Such Progressivism is made to look civilized by the philosophic rationalizations of academia.

However, not even William B. Yeats' poem "The Second Coming" can encompass what is really happening. The "Beast" in that poem is no longer "waiting to be born". It already owns the Congress and is not "slouching" but dancing toward the White House waiting to drive its eternally new and improving wagon train into a Progressive future that has no Golden Rule.

The Progressive Rule is "let us do unto one another anything that our Progressive leadership tells us is progress!"

"Abortion is progress!"

"Embryonic stem cell research is progress!"

What other, additional adventures in spiritual, cultural and moral regression might the Progressives try to convince us is progress? ESR
