Suicide politician

By Robert T. Smith
web posted July 12, 2010

On a daily basis, we are entertained by many media pundits and commentators who seem perplexed when they attempt to rationalize and evaluate President Obama's aggressive, radical agenda.  Mr. Obama is more easily understood when viewed as a suicide politician, ready and willing to die for his cause.

The Obama administration appears to believe that the individuals in charge of the federal government are smart enough to run the entire economy, banking system, automobile companies, health care, and even regulate the very breath we exhale (CO2).  Any issue can be resolved by increasing the size of the federal government and increasing the power of the government-controlling illuminati.  The Obama administration also appears to believe that the multitude of unintended consequences that arise as a result of achieving their progressive agenda can simply be handled by the same alleged enlightened thinking that spawned the idea.

By pushing through his radical agenda in such a short time-frame, the President appears willing to accept his party's defeat in the 2010 election cycle.  Even now, the President is reported to be ready to double-down on the overall angst his agenda is causing to much of the country by attempting to push for both cap and trade, and comprehensive immigration reform legislation as well this year.  The President's willingness to sacrifice many others' political offices to achieve his agenda appears to be an acceptable casualty rate in his mind.

Many pundits and commentators seem perplexed by Mr. Obama's willingness to accept his party's political defeat in 2010 and to press on even further with additional contentious issues this year.  The President's actions are much more easily understood if one is to consider the likely possibility that, daily, Mr. Obama dons his political suicide vest and caresses the triggering device, unconcerned over the outcome of the 2010 or likely even the 2012 election cycle, so long as his agenda is moved forward expeditiously.

Our ideologue-in-chief appears willing to achieve his goal of destroying what remains of Americanism, regardless of the cost to him or others.  His actions are not targeted at saving America, the analogy being a brave soldier throwing himself on a live grenade to save his buddies; but instead his actions are targeted to destroy America in its form as his enemy, the analogy being a middle-east suicide bomber blowing up a restaurant full of innocent citizens.

Looking forward to the 2012 election cycle, it can only be hoped that Mr. Obama is truly our country's very own suicide politician.  Thereafter the 2012 election, the cleanup of the ugly remains of our political suicide bomber President's agenda can begin, change to follow, and the true hope of Americanism restored.
