Chapter Seven of An Ecstatic Loneliness: The Domestic "Red" Line

By Michael Moriarty
web posted October 1, 2012

This song of mine, No More, was written and recorded in the mid-eighties.

I had been a Liberal then and, because of Ronald Reagan, I saw, what I thought at the time, as an inevitable race war coming.

No such thing happened.

In fact the country pulled itself out of the disastrous Carter Slump and was momentarily re-inspired to re-institute the American fundamentals that had been the very foundation of America's greatness: an individual freedom that can only arise out of an individual responsibility for the direction of one's own life.

With the end of individual responsibility comes the end of individual freedom.

With the 2012 Presidential Election descending upon us at warp speed, the racial lines being drawn are thickening at the same tempo as the political rhetoric.

My No More message might still be in the air; but, I must add, the meanings will be sitting this time on nothing more than pure mountains of 47%, Rainbow American, self-entitled, suicidal and utterly delusional thinking.

I was a part of that delusional cheering section!

I had been a Liberal most of my adult life.

In other words, I had been a "useful idiot".

Depending upon the outcome of the 2012 election, No More can, quite tragically, be used to inflate not a racial war but a bottomless fantasy: the belief that the government of America owes all Americans a care-free life.

Perhaps No More will simply accelerate the nightmare into which the United States is most certainly headed: Civil War and a possible World War III.

Hopefully No More will be forgotten in the prayed-for heat of American Rehabilitation!

Of one thing I am certain: we, the entire human race, will come out of this inevitable horror a cleaner, stronger, more compassionate, humbler and divinely rehabilitated fact of the Universe.

Why the optimism?!

Miles DavisMiles Davis.

By some still unexplained mystery, a perfect stranger, perfectly young enough but wonderfully alert enough to be a listener, somehow involved in a movie I was inhabiting at the time, began to speak of having met Miles Davis!

I thought, "Really?!"

"What did he have to tell you," I asked.

"Life is perfect."

"I beg your pardon?!"

"Right! He said life is perfect!"

I waited for him to elaborate. Miles Davis was not all that well-known as a peacefully well-adjusted American citizen … to say the least. His bitter encounters with white men particularly had reached the headlines more than once.

Regardless of all that, my white boy's youth was transfixed by Miles Davis. When my father disparaged him and his live performance on the My Funny Valentine album?!

I said to myself, "That's it for you, old man! You wouldn't know performing courage if it sat on your face!"

Miles Davis hits a few "clams" on that live album at Lincoln Center … but what his trumpet is reaching for was a thing beyond sound itself.

It was the essence of his own … yes … Miles Davis' own "Ecstatic Loneliness".

Here he is in Milan, Italy ... and possibly a little "pissed off" … about a few things within the quintet … only the great bassist Ron Carter might know …… and even then … IF you are more interested in The Search than in the results … Miles Davis puts more pounds of dramatic courage per note into his solos … than any other jazz musician I've ever heard.

He leads in the "unexpected" column!

The rest follow.

None can surpass the intensity of his courage however.

In other words, more pounds per square inch … or, in boxing terms, of which he knew everything … more pure impact with each punch.

What's he hitting? Our souls … if we even know we have one … enough of one to wake up.

His return to end My Funny Valentine on this night in Milan, his reappearance is classic Miles.

With all the "clams" and Miles' discontent … how can he believe life is perfect?!

It is!

His so-called "clams" prove it!

What is "perfect" is what has been going on beneath the sounds … the noise and music of everything … the soul of everything. That is what is perfect.

And that, God willing, is what will remain after we've faced the inevitability of World War III.

After the "Red Line" which Israel's Benjamin Netanyahu has declared will always exist between Israel and Muammar Ahmadinejad's homicidally Islamic Iran.

Netanyahu's Israel, exactly like Winston Churchill's England, has already declared war on Iran, yet the Prime Minister of Israel awaits the provocation that Churchill waited for and Hitler postponed.

A "silent war" has existed between Iran and Israel for quite some time now. It is reminiscent of the delays in outright military action following England's declaration of war with Germany.

In the case of America's involvement in a possible war in the Middle East, the provocation for U.S. involvement in the war is not only Iran's creation of nuclear weapons but also the means with which to deliver them.

Hitler versus Churchill is Ahmadinejad versus Benjamin Netanyahu. There is really nothing new about this insanity. What will it take to end this disease of anti-Semitism on the earth and within the soul of the human race?

World War III.

There is no other possible option. World War II did not finish the job.

Why? Stalin's Soviet Union replaced Hitler's ambitions to rule the human race under a Nazi New World Order.

Stalin's aims are now not only kept alive by Vladimir Putin's neo-Soviet Russia but also the International Communist Party's exploitation of Radically Islamic insanity.

The target? America and individual freedom and responsibility of any kind.

The Communist Party's Principle Rule for Domination: "Take away individual responsibility and the State can end individual freedom!"

No world leader has made that objective more obvious to everyone than has President of the United States Barack Hussein Obama.

With 47% of America at least increasingly dependent upon the Federal Government? What are the prospects for a return to, say, the America of Ronald Reagan? With a Marxist presently in the White House and an American population repeatedly backing up President Obama from 46 to 49 percentage points?!

At least some sort of Civil War in America seems unavoidable. That possibility could lead to a Third World War.

Why? The Red Line for civilization, as far as I am concerned, has been and will always be legalized murder.

The Roe v Wade decision of 1973 has been legalizing infanticide for 39 years. Such homicidal freedoms, including euthanasia, have existed in other corners of the entire Free World for an alarmingly long time. Only the Catholic Church has unequivocal in Her opposition to abortion.

Legalized murder by definition liberates the basic human dependence upon similarly quick and homicidal solutions to any number of challenges in life. This cannot help but lead to domestic, then civil and then worldwide use of death as the best solution to an increasing number of problems.

In other words: war!

A Third World War.

The "Cat" of legalized murder and assassination is not only "out of the bag" but curled up on the desk of the Oval Office.

Lincoln predicted that America could only die by suicide. No foreign power could defeat the meaning of the United States. Obama's "fundamental transformation of the United Stats" is, indeed, that American suicide.

Should Obama be reelected, the Obama Nation will most willingly perform any form of euthanasia possible upon that other 47% of America that never wanted a "fundamental transformation of America" in the first place.

The "red line" for America's suicide was crossed in 1973 with Roe. Unless Roe is overturned, at least state by state, the Communist exploitation of Islamic insanity will bury America in the bowels of her own suicidal instincts.

Unless Americans begin to protect the life of the most helpless innocents on earth, the gestating infants awaiting abortion, they, the Americans, will not really wish to protect themselves. ESR
