“Antiracism” – The race grievance industry’s latest hustle

Ibram X. Kendi. Oh crap, here we go again. Another one of these guys. Must we suffer an endless parade of these shameless, race-obsessed, professional victims? (Heavy sigh of exasperation!) Yep, apparently we must, and like all the others, Kendi’s going to spend his time in the sun ripping white people a new one. He has come along at just the right time in history when all the stars seem perfectly aligned for guys like him. Black Lives Matter is in ascendancy and Western civilization, apparently exhausted, is in precipitous decline and ripe for pillaging.
So let’s see . . . He’s got the African/Muslim-sounding name. His original name was Ibram Henry Rogers, but two thirds of that sounded just a little too “white.” He is an author, a professor and a “historian of race and discriminatory policy in America.” (Of course he is!)
But what really put him on the map is his book How To Be An Antiracist. And now, “antiracism” is all the rage. And what, exactly, is “antiracism?” Stripped down to its essence, it’s the idea that simply not being racist is not good enough. You must be “antiracist,” which involves actively fighting against racism. And since racism is everywhere, all the time, you must be righteously obsessed with fighting it, every waking moment. Otherwise, you’re not really down with the struggle and you’re part of the problem. Got it?
Or to put it another way, “antiracism” is the race grievance industry’s latest concoction of grievance gobbledygook to be foisted upon a society in which it has become totally acceptable, if not required, to endlessly and gratuitously vilify white people.
Due to the success of his book, Kendi has hustled his way into becoming the founding director of – are you ready for this? – the Boston University Center for Antiracist Research. How slick is that? By the way, guess who donated 10,000,000 smackeroos to it? Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey, the guy who regularly censors conservative speech on his platform and who will now no doubt be censoring even more, based on the contents of Kendi’s book.
Speaking of Twitter, here’s a recent tweet from Kendi, the world’s most renowned “antiracism” expert: “We should eliminate the term ‘not racist’ from the human vocabulary. We are either being racist or antiracist. Is that clear for you? There is no such thing as ‘not racist.’”
Really? So, if a white person says, “I’m not racist,” then he must be totally delusional. He might as well believe in leprechauns or forest nymphs because the concept of “not racist” has been wiped out of existence on the say-so of a race hustler calling himself Ibram X. Kendi. Welp, they better have plenty of people working the phones at the Center for Antiracist Research because it’s going to be swamped with obscenely hefty donations from white leftists out to prove they’re “antiracists.”
While we’re on the subject of Twitter, let’s examine another of Kendi’s recent tweets, this one referring to recent Supreme Court nominee Amy Coney Barrett and her adoption of two black children from Haiti:
“Some White colonizers ‘adopted’ Black children. They ‘civilized’ these ‘savage’ children in the ‘superior’ ways of White people, while using them as props in their lifelong pictures of denial, while cutting the biological parents of these children out of the picture of humanity.”
Seriously? You really think the Barretts are what amounts to “White colonizers” who just want to use those children as “props” in their “lifelong pictures of denial?” Could they possibly just be good Christian folk who wanted to do something generous and wonderful for a couple of disadvantaged children? Not in Kendi’s fevered brain. When it comes to race, nothing can be that pristinely simple. Everything has to be explained in provocative, race grievance hyperbole and psychobabble. The tweet above is a perfect encapsulation of that, as well as most everything that will ever come out of the Boston University Center for Antiracist Research.
Let’s just get down to cases here. Why does a guy like Kendi devote his life to this divisive gibberish? He was lucky enough to be born in the United States of America long after the victories of the civil rights movement. He had all the advantages in life, including successful parents, private schools and college. He could have chosen to become a doctor, or an engineer, or an architect, or a computer scientist, or anything else that he might have wanted and that would have contributed something to society. Instead, he chose race hustler.
The question remains: why? Because it’s easy, especially during these heady times when Marxist revolution is in the air and a takedown of Western civilization finally seems a very real possibility. In such a giddy atmosphere, Kendi can sit around all day long, composing racial claptrap and knowing that white leftists will eat it up with a spoon. This guy has to be pinching himself and asking the question, “Did I die and go to heaven?”
In addition, though, make no mistake, it’s also about power. In this case, it’s about his self-perceived moral power that comes from calling out white people for their endless alleged sins. But here’s the part he’s never going to say out loud. That supposed moral power is really just compensation for the lack of power in other areas. What this really boils down to is his envy of white/European accomplishments.
So, for instance, while he morally condemns white colonizing, he envies their ability to do it. That’s because sub-Saharan Africans simply weren’t capable of building large ships, sailing them to faraway lands and colonizing those lands. If they had been able to do that, they would have, and in that case, instead of being crimes against humanity, they would have been glorious achievements.
But they had no such achievements.
And then there are all the other white/European accomplishments to envy, like the creation of virtually everything that modernized the world and made life longer, healthier, more productive, more enjoyable and less of a struggle. But because Kendi chooses to identify solely with his race, rather than the civilization in which he was lucky enough to have been born, he sets himself up with endless racial grievances which must be assuaged. The result is the absurdity of something called the “Boston University Center for Antiracist Research” and all the racial hogwash that will ever come out of that place.
White people and their accomplishments live in this guy’s head 24/7. Everything he does, all the “antiracism” psychobabble, is a desperate attempt to get back at them, to somehow discredit their alleged “supremacy,” but all it really does is confirm it, at least in terms of accomplishments. He could strive for great accomplishments himself. He could have become a heart surgeon or an astrophysicist. He could try to create the next great product, or make some great scientific breakthrough, or find the cure for some disease. But instead, he’s going to spend his life bashing white people under the ridiculous guise of “antiracist research.” What a pathetic, squandered existence.
The fact is, nothing that comes out of the Racial Grievance Industrial Complex is ever going to help black people. Remember the National Museum of African American History and Culture, and the recent post on its website (since removed) that listed all the major attributes of “whiteness?” Those attributes – hard work, delayed gratification, the nuclear family, respect for authority, objective rational linear thinking – amounted to a simple formula for success in life, but the inference was that such things shouldn’t be pushed on black people because they shouldn’t be expected to “act white.”
The only thing this kind of garbage will ever do is keep black people mired in resentful anger, dysfunction and failure. And that will be Kendi’s great contribution to his people, who, in his mind, can only ever be defined by their race and their victimhood.
Would it be too harsh to say that Kendi is a parasite on white/European civilization? Well, in what other civilization could he get away with this hustle? He denigrates it endlessly, fomenting resentment and hatred towards whites, but all the while he is siphoning off an excellent living and prestige for himself. You make the call.
