Of s___holes, fake outrage and shadow banning By Greg Strange I have one question for the virtue-signaling leftists throughout America and the entire Western world who are beside themselves over President Trump’s alleged vulgar characterization of the country of Haiti: Can you make the case that Haiti is not a s___hole? Go ahead, let’s hear it. I didn’t think so. Universally described as the poorest country in the Western hemisphere, Haiti is a place of grinding poverty, misery, desperation and hopelessness. After a successful slave revolt in 1804, there has been an endless succession of dictators, coups, mismanagement and corruption. Everyone wants out of the country, no one wants into it. By any objective measure, as countries go, Haiti is a s___hole. If they could, pretty near every last inhabitant of Haiti would gladly come to the United States, even if the allegedly racist and deranged Donald Trump were president for life. And, of course, if all 11 million of them arrived simultaneously on our shores in rickety boats and life rafts, the left would welcome them with open arms since the left doesn’t believe in national sovereignty or controlled immigration. When it comes to immigration, the overriding factor for the left is signaling its supposed virtue by indiscriminately importing endless numbers of exalted, Third World “people of color” (well, that, and adding to Democrat voter rolls). As for assimilation, forget about it. To even bring it up is racist since it infers that there is something wrong with the culture of the beautiful immigrants. And when it comes to asking what skills or attributes the immigrants have that will improve our country . . . Shut up! Their mere presence is enough since they add to our diversity which, in and of itself, is unassailably magnificent. So how dare President Trump call Haiti a s___hole! Funny thing is, here’s what Trump said while campaigning in Florida in September 2016: “ I have so many friends from Haiti, they’re great people. They’re amazing people. The Haitian American community adds so much to our country. Dedication to family, perseverance, entrepreneurship, which is true, some really great entrepreneurs.” And the praise, which couldn’t have been more effusive, went on and on. In other words, it’s possible for really fine people to come from terrible countries and Trump understands that very simple concept. But the craven left would never ignore an opportunity to portray Trump as a racist, which, of course, is what all the fake outrage is really about. So, the syllogism goes something like this: Trump called Haiti a s___hole. Haitians are black. Therefore, Trump is a racist. But the logic is flawed. S___hole country does not mean s___ people. Interestingly though, over at Twitter, that well-known, leftist-run social media company, it is believed that some people (Trump supporters, conservatives, etc.) actually are s___. Or to be more specific, s___tty. In the words of Olinda Hassan, Twitter’s Policy Manager for Trust and Safety, “It’s something we’re working on where we’re trying to get the s___tty people not to show up.” You see how the word “people” literally followed the word “s___tty?” Of course, Hassan didn’t realize she was being recorded by Project Veritas, an organization which seeks to expose corruption, dishonesty and misconduct in public and private institutions through the use of undercover investigations. What exactly was Hassan talking about? It’s a concept called “shadow banning.” Abhinav Vadrevu, a former Twitter employee, explained in the Project Veritas expose: “The idea of a shadow ban is that you ban someone but they don’t know they’ve been banned, because they keep posting and no one sees their content. They just think that no one is engaging with their content, when in reality, no one is seeing it.” How clever is that? They’re censoring the tweets of s___tty people (conservatives) and the clueless s___tty people don’t even know that they are, in effect, being shat upon. Imagine that. Another leftist tech company exposed for its intolerance of non-leftist viewpoints. So, while the left tries to connect the dots between “s___hole country” and alleged racism on the part of President Trump, it’s busily characterizing people with non-leftist opinions as “s___tty.” Apparently, what’s good for the goose is not good for the gander. In that vein, does anyone remember President Obama’s pastor, the contemptible Jeremiah Wright? Our former president sat in the pews for twenty years while this guy preached his kooky, hateful, black liberation theology whose leading theorist, James Cone, has written things like, “What we need is the destruction of whiteness, which is the source of human misery in the world.” I don’t want to jump to any wild conclusions but that sounds like a pretty explicit call for the extermination of the white race. Did anybody on the left at that time have any particular problem with that or with electing a president who had basically been marinated in (excuse my language) such s___? To say that the hypocrisy of the left is staggering is to state the obvious. Every sanctimonious politician, reporter and cable news anchor on the left understands that Haiti is unquestionably a s___hole. Despite their histrionic protestations and their phony tears, they actually have no disagreement with Trump on that fact, but they use his words against him in their desperate campaign to destroy his presidency. While, admittedly, Trump is often his own worst enemy due to his lack of verbal delicacy, that doesn’t excuse the left for its mendacity and viciousness. The left is hellbent on turning America into a s___hole by replacing traditional American values with an insane and destructive ideology that, among other horrible features, is obsessed with race and ethnicity. To help move that project along, it would love to overrun the country with unassimilable Third Worlders who will vote overwhelming Democrat and who will dilute what the left considers to be “white toxicity.” To keep that going, they have to scream racism pretty much without let-up whenever anyone objects to the current immigration mayhem. Unless the Republicans in every branch of government get a backbone, please excuse my language but . . . the country is up s___ creek.
