Captain Queeg McCain

Donald Trump and John McCainAccording to the late Senator from Arizona, Donald Trump “fired up the crazies” in Senator McCain’s home state of Arizona during Mr. Trump’s campaign to be President.  This did not appeal to then candidate Trump and certainly didn’t appeal to the many tens of millions of American “crazies” as the “good” Senator from Arizona labeled his fellow citizens.

This first shot over the bow did not go unchallenged by Mr. Trump, and so the fuse of this feud was lit.  Mr. Trump’s recent negative comments on Senator McCain and, as we are reminded at every mention of his name, war hero, apparently are beyond the pale for the chattering class.  Throughout the media and politicians of both parties we are all required to hold the former Senator in the highest regard, he is beyond reproach and should always be honored.  Strangely, while these purveyors of all that is right admonish us about the disrespect President Trump is showing to the war hero, they don’t wonder how the tens of millions of “crazies” may feel.

The issue that seems to have triggered President Trump is the recent discovery of Senator McCain’s involvement helping to spread lies about the President with the infamous Democrat party hit piece dossier.  This hit piece wasn’t the usual political shenanigans, this document included fabricated “salacious” material in it about Mr. Trump, as the corrupt Mr. Comey described it.  Imagine these disgusting rumors being spread about you to the world, not to mention the full-on impact to Mr. Trump’s time thus far as President with the related, fabricated Russian conspiracy.

This was not a small insult or affront to the President.  This was low-life garbage spread by the “war hero” as an apparent means of revenge.  The same war hero who requested Mr. Trump’s endorsement in his re-election campaign.  The same war hero who in his petty vengeance gave the thumbs down to prevent the President from saving all Americans from the ongoing hideous Obamacare.  Apparently, doomed by genetics, the same war hero’s daughter who saw fit to spend her time “eulogizing” her father by taking shots at the President and put on full display the vengeful classlessness demonstrated by proxy for her deceased father…how fitting.

Unfortunately, similar to a main theme of the Caine Mutiny, the moral and ethical decisions of Captain Queeg McCain should be considered.  The Keating five scandal, throwing Sarah Palin under the straight-talk bus after enlisting her help, the typical stench associated with decades in the Washington ruling class.  A brave, heroic act as a young man in the Vietnam War should not endow Mr. McCain with a lifetime pass for being, for lack of a better word, an ass.

Time and again Senator McCain poked his thumb into the eye of his political party in an apparent ego-boosting effort to gain attention to his “straight talk.”  The liberal media would enjoin the war hero in his occasional forays into this bit of political traitoristic voyeurism and provide Senator McCain with plenty of time in their television lights.  The good Senator happily soaked in their accolades for being so open minded to agree with the democrat propaganda arm main stream media.  It probably never occurred to Senator McCain during his failed attempt to gain the Presidency, the same liberal media was nowhere to be found with their fawning support of the Captain Queeg of the straight talk express.   ESR
