Some dream team

Barack Obama and Hillary ClintonBarack and Hillary … or Hillary and Barack!

Picture those two as President and Vice-President.

"It's too early to think along those lines."

One of them said something like that in their most recent debate … and then the other agreed. In that moment they had become the Dream Team.

Poor John McCain. That's what he might be facing in this year's election. Barack and Hillary … or Hillary and Barack.

It would be rather like a highly improved version of John Kennedy and Lyndon Johnson: Obama as Kennedy, of course, and Mrs. Clinton as a surrogate for her Dixiecrat husband, Bill. The North and South united again, only this time forever, women's rights and minority rights finally in full charge.

Hmmm, we already know what happened to Kennedy and Johnson. A particularly Southernized Democratic Party, the Dixiecrats, revealed their own, inner civil war, culminating in the ugly, 1968 convention in Chicago … and they blamed it on the war in Vietnam in the same way they have now united to blame it all on the Republican Party's war in Iraq.

However, it took a Republican, Abraham Lincoln, to win and settle the first Civil War … but in the present situation, the coming civil war will first erupt within the Democratic Party itself and the divisions won't be over any war in Vietnam or Iraq. After the Kennedy assassination, the Democrats are now proud to have "learned their lesson" … maybe.

We've already seen the tension between Obama and the Clintons, particularly in the South Carolina primary. This coming civil war within the Democratic Party will inevitably be over abortion.

The African-American community has not forgotten that Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. described abortion in the black community as genocide. That abortion is now multiracial does not negate the fact that abortion has become the white man's most effective solution to the problem of black poverty.

Of course, murder can solve almost every problem … temporarily.

They're so clever, the Democrats. So brilliant! I think they're a bit short-sighted. However, they are free-thinkers, scientists who brook no hesitation over any direction in their thoughts. What do you expect? They are, well, Progressives!! Discussing, say, health care, the Progressive prescriptions, after so many years of their own Progressive thinking, are actually looking backwards in their own minds. Their health care solution is rather like a review of "stage one" in the ultimate triumph of science over every other mode of thinking, certainly over any antiquated, religious perspective.

When Bill Clinton describes his Baptist faith as "Progressive", he actually means that science and scientists will be the new church and priesthood of a New World Order; and a health care program is the best way to collect a profoundly detailed file on everyone, information easily used by the Progressive leadership to persuade the recalcitrant to fall in line behind the Progressive World Government March toward a new and improved human race!

Yes, eugenics … an exact and exacting formula for a superhumanity.

Therefore, and in a way, "Bill" is actually a down-home Dr. Strangelove and as a "Doctor", he is also a New World Order evangelist. Science and religion, it all fits so nicely. If you don't believe me, just read The Language of God by Francis S. Collins, head of the World Genome Project.

When Barack Obama is willing to see this real, long-term reality of American Progressivism, a second civil war within the Democrat Party will begin, rather like the increasingly obvious and growing dis-ease between Kennedy and Johnson. In other words, I trust Barack Obama's claim to being a Christian more deeply than I could ever trust either of the Clintons about anything.

The pure, symbolic mules of the Democratic Party are the Progressives, i.e. the Clintons. The not so pure and more liberally unpredictable donkeys of the same party – meaning those who are occasionally willing to compromise – are the quaint, not-so progressive liberals, i.e. the Kennedys.

When the donkeys and the mules, the Kennedys and the Clintons, disagree, dig their heels in, a schism rips through the Democratic Party that can turn violent; then we see the kind of bloodshed that erupted in Chicago during the 1968 Democratic Convention.

Hmmm …

So, Obama and the Clintons … Kennedy and Johnson … North and South again … and the inevitably different views of abortion that will most certainly arise within the Democratic Party.

Some dream team … and, of course, lucky John McCain. ESR
