Obama: Messiah in his own eyes

Obama's campaign speeches reveal that he has finally convinced himself that he is, indeed, another "messiah."  Month by month, his rhetoric has grown from confident, to tyrannical.  "I will issue rebate checks to help you with the price of gasoline…" he says, with no regard for what Congress might say.

Barack Obama"I will tax the oil company profits…" as if some celestial power anointed him with the authority to impose taxes when and where he sees fit.

Has there ever been such an outspoken socialist candidate for the U.S. presidency?  What's really scary is the reaction of the audience in St. Petersburg, Florida when Obama said he would take the profits from the oil companies and send it to the people who earn less than $75,000 per year.  The crowd roared and applauded this socialist scheme.

The people who applaud this rhetoric, and vote for this socialist candidate, dishonor every veteran who has ever fought for freedom from socialism, fascism, terrorism, and every other form of tyranny.  Adoring Obama worshipers appear ready to freely give to their new messiah, the same power to redistribute wealth that our soldiers took away from Hitler.

Did anyone notice the striking similarity between Obama's campaign appearance in Berlin, to the campaign appearance of another self-appointed messiah in Berlin 76 years ago?  Has any other U.S. presidential candidate campaigned in the streets of Berlin? Other than self-aggrandizement, what can possibly justify this campaign event?

Obama tells his audiences that the McCain camp will try to scare undecided voters, by telling them that Obama doesn't look like the other presidents on American currency, and that he's black.  There's nothing scary at all about Obama's color; it's his narcissistic arrogance that displays his embrace of his new messiah status, and his socialist platform that is scary.

Obama says that on his first day in office he will call in his Joint Chiefs and instruct them that their new assignment is to "end the war."   He called for all troops to be out of Iraq by March of 2008.  He opposed an increase in troops, and still refuses to admit the "surge" is the reason America is winning in Iraq.   Winning the war against terrorism was never Obama's concern; winning the White House was.

His new messiah status has convinced him that once in the White House, he will be able to wave his hand and spew forth grandiose rhetoric that will make Ahmadinejad fall to his knees and abandon Iran's nuclear ambitions.  With a single volley of Obama verbosity, bin Laden will lay down arms and call off his jihad. So mighty are the words of the new messiah – in his own mind – that the entire world is awaiting his coronation.

Obama campaigns on his determination to bring about "economic justice."  This term simply means the redistribution of wealth as determined by government.  Put another way, Obama's government would steal the property of some citizens and give it to other citizens.   Obama's proposed windfall profits tax on oil companies is a perfect example of stealing the property (profits) from one group of citizens to give to another group of citizens.   This is a fundamental principle of socialism.

Obama campaigns on his determination to bring about "universal health coverage."  This term simply means socialized medicine.  Put another way, Obama's government would determine who gets medical attention, when they get it, who provides it, how much will be paid for it, and who will provide the money to pay for it.  This is a fundamental principle of socialism.

Obama told Detroit auto makers that when "I am president, there will be no more excuses…they will have to make cars that use less oil."   Put another way, with his messianic wisdom, Obama has no problem dictating what the market must produce.  This is a fundamental principle of socialism.

A fundamental principle of freedom is a free market, in which producers decide what they will produce and consumers decide what they will buy.  Obama has made clear that his government will have nothing to do with free markets; but will, instead, manage the market place to insure economic justice, universal health care, gas-free automobiles, and whatever else his highness determines that his subjects need.

Dr. Jerome Corsi's latest book, Obama Nation is one of several new publications that peel away the media dazzle from the socialist foundation of candidate Obama.  Some writers have even suggested that an Obama nation would be the "abomination of desolation" referred to in Matthew 24:15.  Should Obama succeed in converting America into the socialist nation he describes in his platform, desolation would follow, just as surely as it has followed every other government-managed society in history.
