The inevitably Marxist Zoo II: Obama: A Caesar or Richard II?
By Michael Moriarty
What might Shakespeare have to say about the Free World's surrender to Marxism, that all-knowing, most ruthless of imperial lusts for world power and, in particular, America's bizarre and suicidal self-loathing, America's rapid surrender to bottomless debt and a Marxist, welfare state?
The hell of good intentions has never been more at play than in President Barack Obama's first 100 days. What could possibly motivate his radicalism except the President's certainty that the other two world powers, neo-Soviet Russia and Red China will welcome the Obamatized America with fraternal gratitude. Now under a shared Marxism, the three powers, at least in the President's opinion, will form a peacekeeping world triumvirate.
Within President Obama's first 100 days, he has quadrupled the previous Bush debt, begun to waffle on his campaign promises, and he has presumed reasonableness within the Islamic and Communist worlds, the "hoped-for" that does not exist.
With Shakespeare in mind, who will arise as the triumphant Caesar Augustus, in this trio of world powers, and who will fade into the distance and death, like Pompey and Mark Antony did?
One would hope that Obama, like Augustus, will prevail. He is, I believe, the youngest of the three leaderships, the most well-educated, charming and possibly the most cunning.
In short, we Americans have surrendered to Marxism as the basic "coin of the realm" and Obama as the Progressive Mandarin.
Individual freedom is fading as fast as Obama's promise to leave Iraq by the Spring of this year.
Apparently the President likes his foot in the door … any door … perhaps every door.
If these were Caesarian, Imperial times with no memory of even a Roman Republic, let alone democracy and individual freedom, Augustus Obama, which seems to be his self-image, might succeed. The growing Marxist hegemony in the world might bode well for such a Communist Caesar or benign Stalin or charitable Mao Tse Tung.
However, and as I've said many times before, the issue of legalized abortion, rather like legalized slavery, will stand in his way.
If Caesar Augustus had faced a full-blown Christianity, he might, rather like the President of the Southern Confederacy, Jefferson Davis, have fallen to freedom's forces, or he could more likely have become a Constantine, ruler of the Holy Roman Empire and the first recorded Christian emperor.
President Obama not only faces freedom's forces but Judeo-Christian tenacity as well; and is the ghost of Karl Marx capable of ending forever the traditional, Judeo-Christian values such as the sacredness of human life?
Obama thinks so and is certain that the major Marxist building block of legalized murder has already been accomplished with Roe v Wade!
Roe v Wade was Marxism's, and therefore Progressivism's biggest foot in the door! It was a Supreme Court's temptation that few could refuse.
Posing, with the massive help of Time Magazine, as an expert on Abraham Lincoln, President Obama is, indeed, what Lincoln was not: an intellectual supremacist. There's really not an ounce of Lincoln in this President. The former U.N. Ambassador, Alan Keyes, has more Lincoln in him than Obama dreams of. Keyes was the "Lincoln" to face Obama's "Stephen A. Douglas" in their Illinois, Senatorial debates over abortion. It was an almost exact replay of the Lincoln/Douglas debates over slavery.
Keyes, anti-abortionist, lost … but so did Lincoln and his anti-slavery position! Douglas and Obama, the pro-abortion spokesman and the pro-slavery spokesman, won!
No, despite Progressive Bush/Obama claims of Federal omniscience, Judeo-Christianity has proven repeatedly, over many millenniums, that it will not be smothered, certainly not defeated nor transformed by such narcissistic tyranny as that of Progressive, intellectual presumptions of supremacy.
Obama is not negotiating with conservatives. He's building a propaganda machine that hopes to eventually eliminate the conservative voice.
As Bill Clinton believes, politics is a "contact sport".
In conclusion, and to address William Shakespeare's possible puzzlement over America's self-loathing during Obama's first 100 days, I suspect the Bard might laugh to hear me even mention Caesar Augustus in the same breath as President Barack Obama. Charles Krauthammer, however, might not be the least bit surprised at the comparison. To him President Obama is a formidably intriguing enemy.
On the other hand, Obama might possibly prove to be the narcissistic Richard II whose self-involved delusions forced him to give way to a ferociously ambitious Henry IV.
This all led, of course, to the greatest of all English kings: Henry V!
If I'm right, we have much to look forward to, an "appearance" as close to a Second Coming as we might possibly pray for.
With Sarah Palin in the wings, the Second Coming might even be a Christian Queen!
That should turn the Progressive Da Vinci Coders on their heads!!
