America's French Revolution III: An interlude...
By Michael Moriarty I've been a pro-life advocate ever since I arrived in Canada over fifteen years ago. However, I've learned from my campaign to have the Roe v Wade decision overturned that no one listens to men about abortion. The power of the pro-life and pro-abortion voices rests with women. Their body, their decision. Sarah Palin has sent a pro-life message without even speaking about it. Her son, Trig, is profoundly eloquent evidence of at least one woman's commitment to life over death … and, on a spiritual level, her understanding of God's messages being sent through the handicapped. It is their ability, like no other, to remind us of the essential meaning of life, which is love, and our profoundly mysterious interdependence upon one another. If we cannot endure the vulnerability of our fellow man … we will not be able to endure vulnerability within ourselves … and eventually that part of our humanity will die. Man will then eventually become a monster, not unlike Hitler or Stalin or Mao Tse Tung. My concerns deepen about the Marxist path that our President is taking the United States down? I do have my American right to protest … but no one will hear me as profoundly as they will hear an African-American protest the Barack Obama Presidency. So, with as much feeling as I point to Sarah Palin and Trig as my messengers for pro-life, I refer interested readers to two African-Americans who, for me, encompass not only the entire life-styles of black America but the entire economic and intellectual range of rainbow America itself. Two very impressive, common sense voices in the African-American community are Stephen A. Smith, a journalist and too infrequent radio-talk show guest, and Thomas Sowell, philosopher, author and journalist. Both gentlemen are impressively eloquent. One, Mr. Smith, is a stylishly street-savvy and profoundly convincing orator for simple, American common sense values, while Thomas Sowell, with his books, his editorials and his unfortunatel too few public appearances, carries such a home-spun and human weight to his observations that you always wish to hear more. In addition, to read his philosophic essays, so committed to the academic rules to which a serious school of philosophy must adhere, you realize that an Ivy League lawyer, rather like Obama or former President William Clinton, could not possibly slip a "fast one" by Thomas Sowell. These four Americans, Sarah Palin and Trig, Stephen A. Smith and Thomas Sowell are precious angels that watch over us. Help guide our souls and protect our freedom. America, as not a Rev. Jesse Jackson Rainbow Coalition but a Rainbow Family, is under major threat these days … threat to its very existence … certainly to its identity and integrity. I had intended this week's editorial to be a continuation of the French Revolution going on in America. France as "Our Oldest Enemy" – see Miller and Molesky's book of the same name - sowed the seeds of "enlightened despotism" and, as I follow the repercussions and harvests of that bitter planting, I see Communism as the inevitable outcome of the French Revolution … or, as Yeats put it, the ultimate "Beast slouching towards Bethlehem". Add radical Islam's anti-Americanism to the Communist intransigence, that plus the Americanized version of a decidedly Red New World Order, the one hundred year-old Progressive Movement's "Third Way", announced by President Clinton and now being fully enacted and implemented by President Obama. My all too brief tributes to Sarah Palin and Trig, Stephen A. Smith and Thomas Sowell are mildly desperate acts of collecting our American resources, those traditional voices of the American Idea, intellects and souls that have not broken with the Declaration of Independence. Not disowned its proclamation of Man's inalienable right to life, nor ruptured our lifeline to the Constitution and Bill of Rights. America as a nation, however, is hemorrhaging! The Tea Partiers, 9/12ers, Glenn Beck and the other four people I've mentioned are doing their best to cauterize the wounds … but, God save us, our truth and integrity are flooding uselessly into the very seas and oceans which Obama is flying over. He's continent hopping in order to proselytize his own, very personalized and Marxist version of a New World Order. His Crusade is not a "Change" but a Marxist transubstantiation that I find almost impossible to watch. I am certain it is intended to plunge the world and the entire human race into the Marxist "collective", waiting room of some hospital from hell. This "Change", that only the Far Left could believe in, will toss America into the holding pen of a Death Panel Courthouse. There we will bleed individual freedom, while the American ruling class Progressively enlightens itself through some new and sophisticated form of suicide. They'll call it "euthanasia.
I'll call it, along with the Roe v. Wade decision, another New World Order euphemism for cold-blooded murder.
